Can I also be anonymous in the
photo?
Yes, no problem. During the introductory meeting we sign a
contract which states that models' faces can only be shown with
the express written permission of the model himself, unless it
is otherwise stated in the contract. You can be made
unrecognisable during the session by means of masks, a blindfold
and body paint for instance.
Can I bring a friend to the
introductory session?
This is only possible if the friend also
wishes to be photographed. I also require first, an application
form from this person. From experience, the interaction between
photographer and model doesn't work well if there's a
non-active, third person there.
I'm Straight, is that a problem?
Almost half the men who I photograph are
heterosexual. For my work, it's not important how you categorise
yourself. It's all about men who will bare all, both literally
and figuratively, during a photo session. In this way, I can
create an image inspired by male sexual energy.
I'm older than
40. Am I eligible for an introductory session?
Yes, you're never
too old for an introductory session. I get a lot of interest
from men who are over 40. In theory, I work with men of all ages
from 18 to 99.
I'd love to
pose for photos but don't know if I dare be completely naked.
What do you advise?
If people come
here to pose, I think it's really important that nobody goes
beyond their own limits. If you there and then decide that it
doesn't feel right and if it's too big a step to be completely
naked then that's fine. I prefer to work with a situation as it
is and as it happens.
What happens to
the photos after they are taken?
The principal aim of a photo session is to add new work to my
portfolio. Eventually, work can be made public by means of
exhibitions and publications; (if the model is recognisable then
this only happens with written permission of the model). The
results of the session will be sent to you on a CD, on request.
Is it bad if i get turned-on during a session?
No problem. It happens as it happens during a session. An
erection or not is absolutely not important.
Is the photographer also naked?
No.
Is the intention to have sex with the
photographer?
No.
My aim is to make photos and photography projects that are a
reflection of male sexual energy, power and vulnerability.
To
achieve this, as far as I'm concerned, lots of things are
possible but always after discussion and with agreement from all
concerned. Working with sexual energy is a delicate process
which I aim to achieve with integrity and care.
